Travel Stories and Road Stories

As you can see, I have not written in a while. I have been building my travel journalism career. Things are going with two publications: World Atlas and Obscure Histories. This new leg of my journey has led me into Florida travel journalism, a perfect fit for me.

Mark Twain wrote, “Write what you know,” I know and love all things Florida. Though I have grandiose visions of traveling the world, starting in my backyard is logical. My passion and voice shine through the pages more than any other topic. I started a new drop-down menu on the homepage titled “Road Trips.” The goal is to awaken the primal need for travel and adventure. Of course, most of my articles include restaurants and culinary-related topics.

As I write this biographical article, several pieces are in production. Obscure Histories is publishing my firsthand experience with the historic Putnam Lodge in two separate formats: written word and video, with yours personally doing the voiceover. That is an exciting thing for me, and I hope it performs well. I have also submitted a couple of pieces on Steinhatchee, Florida, that should be published soon.

Steinhatchee has become one of my favorite places, and I am fortunate to live here. This tiny region has abundant history begging to be written about, and I am more than happy to oblige. As the trips get longer and the photo collection gets more extensive, I will publish on The Jazz Pantry more frequently. It is, after all, my publication.

I still write culinary pieces and hope to do so permanently. Instant Pot Eats publishes my current pieces on, you guessed it, all things Instant Pot. The creative process is thrilling, and I hope to continue this journey for quite a while. I have also done podcasts and interviews on various topics, but I must find the links.

I hope this letter finds you well. It is a rainy Sunday in my neck of the woods, and jazz is playing in the background as I write, along with Cuban coffee in my mug from my Moka pot, an ideal way to start any day. Stay tuned for more travel features and road trips from my wanderings.

  • And here you go! I do love to wander with you. The world in your eyes and the stories you tell ………..can be reached from my very own couch.
