Jp’s Current Events

HI! As the host of a new website, I just wanted to let you know how everything is going on our end. Currently, JP is selling Wicked Jack coffee and rum cakes. The coffees are a smooth roast with no acidity from the Caribbean and Latin America regions. The rum cakes are simply the best I’ve ever had. In fact, for the launch party, we offered the butter, red velvet and chocolate versions and they were a hit. Red velvet is my favorite. The cakes are incredibly moist and have just the right flavor of Jamaican rum. We also started selling organic teas and will start selling Monin syrups soon.
We have started a coffee subscription service called Bean Aficionados. We have three different levels and are flexible in terms of product and shipping times. The beauty of hosting a site such as this is that I love coffee too. I enjoy the coffee making ritual and myriad coffee and teas. This understanding of coffee and its impact on my daily life helps me to offer flexibility to like-minded people. I am a Bean Aficionado myself.
JP will start selling coffees from around the world and our own roast starting in February. We will offer single origin, rare and blended beans. We will sell coffee from any region, in any roast, and with any flavor you want. Just drop us a line on whatever coffee you like and we will get it for you. The flavored coffees are simply amazing. Two of the blends donate a portion of the cost to two charitable causes near to my heart. Haiti Blue ensures the Haitian coffee farmers earn 300% more than the national minimum wage. The Jamaican coffee donates proceeds to a Christian organization that fights illiteracy in Trench Town, Jamaica. These children learn how to read from tutors, opening a gateway to highschool. These charities align with JP’s philosophy of culinary with a cause. Life should be enjoyable. Part of that joy comes from helping others we meet along our journey.
Another additional feature we will offer is the single cup filter. As a conservationist, I fight every day to lessen my environmental footprint. Plastic is a scourge on our planet, particularly the ocean. Alot of coffee consumers prefer single cups makers for their joe. The problem with the single use cups is that they are non biodegradable plastic. We will offer a single cup filter that works for all our roasts, which ensures you can enjoy your favorite Jazz Pantry coffee and do your part to protect our precious resources.
Now that the initiation phase of the site is over (hopefully), I can now focus on creative content such as coffee roasting and cupping lessons, posting my favorite recipes and kitchen tips and just getting to meet others on their culinary journeys. This also enables me to focus on the upcoming cookbook, which was the point of this website oh so long ago. I am looking forward to publishing a work that is dedicated to my mentor, chef Grayson. That was, and is, the driving force behind The Jazz Pantry. So, please drop me a line with questions, advice or conversation. I enjoy meeting new friends and look forward to the coffee suggestions. Until the next post, Happy Eats!
